How lucky could we get?  CSPAN's has provided a two hour discussion about Homer's Odyssey with the translator Professor Stanley Lombardo,  Professor of Classics, University of Kansas .

Note this two hour conversation about deals with the some of the mature themes that are present in the Odyssey.

You may be wondering if all translations of the Odyssey are the same.

A quick answer to that question is to take a look at various opening lines of the Odyssey.  As one of my UC Irvine Professors said: "The art of translation is the art of interpretation."
