It's always interesting to see how the legacy of Greco-Roman mythology's legacy has carried on and how it's represented by cultures beyond the Greeks and Romans. A person who has brought the ancient cast of characters to life was the successful British artist John William Waterhouse.
Waterhouse is well know for depicting women historical women and particularly famous mythological mythological women. Well known are his pieces on
"Penelope and Her Suitors" to "Ulysses and the Sirens" and even "Jason and Medea."
He is part of the Nineteenth-Century "Pre-Raphaelite" Art movement.
