"What kind of a voice they show us in their essay."

VM: "So in some ways the essay may be the most important thing in that application? Where they are selling themselves essentially."
SA: "Well in some ways -because of the grades and standardized testing takes such a center stage -most students applying to a place like Grinnell-they have what we're looking for. So it's the essay and the activities that set a student apart."
